The Tuesday/Thursday Evening bike rides will have a new start time this Tuesday, September 29 due to darkness coming earlier now.
New Start Time is 6:00 PM at the County Line - PV Boulevard and Duval Drive.
Last Tuesday, the 5-6 Riders that completed the ride together decided, that due to darkness and safety, to start tomorrow’s (Tuesday, September 29) ride at 6:00pm from the county line. So Walter, Tom, Juan, myself and a few others hope you can make the new time.

Lodge Group Ride Schedule Email Issue
Did you check the blog for the Lodge Group Bike Ride Schedule for this past weekend.
The Sunday ride time changed to 8:00 AM.
I had issues with sending group email with Comcast.
That is why you may have not received the last two weeks ride schedule email.
The ride schedule was posted on the Blog.
I have had to split the Lodge Group email distribution list in to two list due to a Comcast distribution limit of 99 names, so that it is not considered spam.

6 Gap Lodging
I’ve got a 2 night reservation (Sept. 25th and 26th) for the Cedar House Inn that I don’t need. I know it can be hard to find lodging for Six Gap so I thought I would see if you knew of anyone who would like to pick up this reservation.
The room is the Chickadee room (http://www.georgiamountaininn.com/chickadee.htm) and the rate is $95-$105 per night.
If someone would like to pick up this reservation, e-mail me at kj@jonesland.net and I will contact the B&B owner’s to let them know you are going to call with your credit card info and switch the reservation.
Thanks,
Ken Jones

Tara Joseph's French Alps Trip
Clients and friends of KONA Human Performance recently visited the French Alps in Haute-Savoie, France, to enjoy a vigorous 10-day cycling vacation. Many of the daily rides, based out of Vanilla Ski Chalet in Bourg-Saint Maurice, included the most difficult 1st Category and Hors Category climbs of the Tour de France, including La Plagne, Cormet De Roselend, Col Du Petite St. Bernard, Col Du Telegraphe and the famed Col Du Galibier, with side trips to La Thuille and Courmayeur, Italy. Our hosts, Sam and Andy Maiklem, (www.vanillaski.com/alpine_etape/) were most gracious. Andy an avid cyclist would ride with us daily giving us the history and translating the french language throughout our day. We would certainly look forward to our evenings, as that's when Andy's wife, Sam would present us with her daily "Extraordinary Culinary Creation". Sam prepares only organic foods; duck, lamb, chicken, lovely green salads and vegetables, to name a few. Local wine and cheese from nearby villages were also enjoyed with our evening meal. I must say, dream of her creations even to this day.
Participants were Leslie Smith, Atlantic Beach; Charlie Fry, Ponte Vedra Beach; Rick Ricart, Palm Bay; Florida; Ben Moore, Jacksonville; and Tara and John Josephs, Jacksonville.
If you are interested in a future trip, please contact Tara Josephs - tarajosephs@mac.com

St. Augustine Cycling Festival
Hi all. Picked up a flyer in my local sandwich shop in town and thought there may be some interest. Seems that the NFBC has teamed up with a few others to put on a Cycling Festival based around St Augustine next weekend, 12/13 Sep. There s a Crit on Sat at the St John County complex, and TT and Road Race at Batram Trail on Sunday. Also a Bike Expo at the St Augustine Amphitheater both days (I was there recently for a performance and it is a hidden gem). Check it all out on www.staugustinecyclingfestival.com
Cheers,
Robert Hudson

Tour of Asturias
Photos from Walter & Lea Anne Campbell's visit with Cesar and Madie Garcia in Candas, Spain.
We met with a small group of locals nearly every morning to ride the rural roads in northern Spain. The local terrain (coastal) consists of rolling hills with a few small climbs. But there are some steep/narrow roads (18-20%) for those that choose to ride them (me). Further inland is mountainous terrain that consists of climbs over 20 kilometers.
