That also means the Saturday Ride route will be altered for this coming weekend. The adjusted route is thus: PVB across A!A, at the Publix round-about take a right on Palm Valley Rd, left at Landrum Rd, at Roscoe Blvd:
A Group heads left to 210 Bridge, over bridge down 210, at Crosswater Parkway ride two loops on “spoke 1” turning around at the first light before the overpass at the old 210 intersection, then up the on-ramp and back to the Lodge.
AA Group turns right on Roscoe Blvd., right at Canal, right at Palm Valley Road, right on Landrum and at Roscoe Blvd. turns right and follow the same course as the A Group.
Essentially the route is one lap of our old “loop in the valley” ride, then two laps of spoke one and back. If you are at the front of the pace line, please call out the turns well ahead of time. This route will be unfamiliar to our newer riders.
Please note CORONA ROAD will be closed beginning 13 September 2010 to all vehicular traffic for approximately six (6) months for the Corona Road Weir Safety Improvements Project between Ponte Vedra Blvd. and Rutile Drive.
Pedestrian access will be provided on weekends only.
The cool down thru the neighbor hood we maybe able to cross on Pedestrian Access on Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise we will have to ride up PVB to Corona Road to San Jose to finish our cool down part of the ride.
Please Remember with the large Saturday morning bike ride group it is a warm up ride speed around 20 MPH "Neutral Zone" to the A1A crossing.
Saturday – 8:00 AM @ the Lodge – 35 to 40 miles
Group AA = 25+ MPH
Group A = 19 – 25 MPH
Remember it is a warm up ride to the A1A crossing.
See link for the Map on the right.
Sunday – 7:30AM @ the Lodge – 40-60 miles
Group Ride Ride Pace = 19 – 22 MPH.
Remember this is a GROUP ride.
We will regroup when necessary for those loosing contact with the group.
Let’s try to keep everyone together back to the Palm Valley Bridge
New to the group and loved the first 7 miles @ the back of the pack. You all rock. I am staying @ the back of the pack for now because I'm new, but hope to be able to work my way into it over the next year. And promise that my #1 goal is not scare anyone with spastic riding before I join :-)
