PEDAL-DRIVEN Mountain Bike Advocacy Movie - Saturday, November 19 - 6:00 PM

The Movie/Event, "Pedal Driven", will be coming November 19th. This movie is a bike-umentary put together by IMBA. Though it is mountain bike focused, it's really about bike advocacy and working with local government officials. We are inviting the entire biking community to this event (mtb, road, bmx, free style, and cyclo-cross). There will be attendees from different government agencies as well. So if you or anyone you know is interesting in bicycle advocacy come to the event. It will be at the Burrito Gallery downtown (21 East Adams Street (904) 598-2922) at 6:00 pm on November 19. Most of the local bike shops will be set up in the parking lot as well.


Bring a chair as the movie will be shown outside.

Wolfson Children's Hospital Run & Bike Ultra Marathon January 29

For the Ultra Marathon runner and bike rider check out the ultra marathon event to support the Wolfson Children's Hospital on January 29. There will be a 155 mile bike ride from the Jacksonville Landing. The route will be a century ride to Hasting and back with 3 laps downtown. Also there is a 55 mile ultra marathon run. There will be a 1 mile fun run and a 5 mile run for the non ultra marathon athletes.

Race Arcoss The Sky - Encore Presentation Tonight Tuesday November 9

There is an encore presentation tonight Tuesday, November 9 for the Leadville Trail 100 mile mountain bike race movie - Race Across the Sky.

This race is being billed at the Tour de France of mountain biking. This movie is well done showing the race leaders and the very motivational stories of the other riders back in the pack.

TOSRV Havana FL to Albany GA April 2010

Several of the bike riders from the beach and The Lodge Group rode the 200 mile TOSRV bike ride the weekend of April 17 & 18. The ride left Havana, FL for a 100 mile ride to Albany, GA and return back on Sunday. TOSRV has been disbanded the last two years and was reorganized back to the almost original route. We all had a great time and was a good base building bike ride.

Organized Bike Rides for the Weekend of April 17 & 18

There are two organized bike rides this weekend April 17 and 18 that several of The Lodge Group riders will be participating.

The Katie Ride for Life 2010

TOSRV in Havana FL (Tallahassee) - This ride is back to original route except now leaving from Havana and ride concept.

Have a good and SAFE ride. Remember there will less experienced riders participating, so please be safe, courteous and patient with them. Help them along as other did you when you were starting out. Or watch out for them!

Bike Yard Sale @ The Old American Bike Shop on 3rd Street

The Last and final Bike Yard Sale is this Saturday at the Old American Bike Shop on 3rd street. There are several good bicycle related items left such as bike repair stands, trunk bike racks, wheels, tires, bike parts, air compressor. Come and check it out between 1:00 and 3:00 PM Saturday, February 13.

Do you need a bike trainer wheel/tire, or building up a single speed/urban assault bike/tri bike (or add a tri bar to your road bike) or need to add a tool to your garage bike repair shop?

There will be a Bike Yard Sale at the Old American Bicycle Store on Saturday, January 23 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The old store is being cleaned out so it can be leased. There are a variety of items that were left, new and used/low end and high end consisting of tools, bike parts, bike frames, bike racks, tires/rims/wheel sets (both road and mountain bike), bike travel cases and other assorted items. Some are new but need a bolt or such as helmets that need replacement pads.

These items will be sold as it.
