BFSC Ride Schedule July 28 & 29


Olympic Road Bike Racing is on Saturday, July 28 at 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM on NBC on Comcast Ch. 432. Set your DVRs.

BFSC Summer Party is Saturday, August 11th at Mike Bush home on Duval Drive, Jax Beach. Mark your calendars and set up childcare if needed. Stay tune for more information.

Ride To Amelia – the next BFSC ride to Amelia is Sunday, August 5th.

 2012 BFSC Bike Kits reorder has closed. We will finalize the order on Monday, Please get your money into Beaches First Street Cycling ASAP or bring your check or cash on a bike ride this weekend, so we do not hold up the order. Thanks.

Beaches Weekend Weather Forecast (observed at Mayport Naval Air Station)

The Beaches Weekend weather forecast unseasonable HOT and Humid for Saturday at start time is 80F, 9 mph WSW wind, and Partly Sunny. On Sunday the forecast at the start time is the same unseasonable HOT & Humid conditions at 79F, 9 mph SW wind and Partly Sunny.

There are Two Groups on Saturday

We are still riding The OLD ROUTE on Saturdays.

The BFSC splits into 2 groups base on Ride Pace either at the PV Bridge
Or at the Traffic Light at Crosswater Parkway & Old 210
Group 1 = Ride Pace 25+ MPH with max speed 30+
Group 2 = Ride Pace 19 – 25 MPH

Group 1 will make Right at Crosswater Parkway. 
Group 2 will make a Left at Crosswater Parkway
  
Sunday - 8:00 AM Road Ride Leaving from the Lodge – 50 - 65 miles
Group Ride Ride Pace = 19 – 22 MPH.
Remember this is a GROUP ride. This means a NO drop Ride and we all stop for Flats/Mechanical issues.
We will regroup when necessary for those loosing contact with the group.
We have been trying to keep everyone together back to the Palm Valley Bridge,
 so that everyone finishes the ride together.

ALL RIDE MILLAGE IS BASED on from the starting location: The Lodge and back to The Lodge

The Beaches Weekend weather forecast for Saturday at start time is 79F, 6 mph SW wind, and Partly Sunny. On Sunday the forecast at the start time is 80F, 7 mph S wind and Partly Sunny.

Road Construction Alert - Duval Drive - Jax Beach

Road Construction - Duval Drive from 37th Street south to Ponte Vedra Blvd.
Beginning Monday, July 23 they will begin to tear Duval Drive up.
They will be repaving and adding curbs to Duval Drive.
Project time line is 270 days.

BFSC Ride Schedule July 14 & 15 - Alternate TRI Route on Saturday


Saturday, July 14 is the third and this year’s last BFAS first Sprint Triathlon at Mickler’s Beach.

The BFSC Saturday ride route will be diverted, so that, we do not interfere with the Triathlon. See Saturday ride route below.

Also the MS Training Ride is leaving the PGA Tour HQ at 7:30 AM and will ride down A1A and back.

The 2012 Beaches First Street Cycling Bike Kits have been delivered. If you have not received yours contact us at bfscycling@gmail.com to make arrangements to pick yours up.

The Beaches Weekend weather forecast calls for on Saturday’s start time Partly Sunny, 81 F, 9 mph ESE wind. On Sunday the forecast is Cloudy at the start time @ 81 F, 6 mph E wind with 40% chance of rain.

Saturday – 8:00 AM @ the Lodge – 40 miles = Alternate route to the Palm Valley Bridge due to the Beaches Fine Arts Triathlon - See Below:

The Beaches Fine Art first triathlon is this Saturday, May 19 starting at 7:00 AM. The BFSC bike ride route will leave the Lodge @ 8:00 AM and ride north on PVB to west/left onto Solana Road crossing over A1A and ride south on Roscoe Blvd to the Palm Valley Bridge and then begin the traditional Saturday bike ride route. In the past, by the time we arrive at the bridge the bike portion of the Triathlon has been completed. We will return by Mickler's Road to PVB. Watch for heavy traffic around the Triathlon.

BFSC Ride Schedule July 7 & 8 - Sunday Ride to Amelia Island


July 8th, Sunday’s BFSC Ride is to Amelia Island. We catch the 8:30 AM Ferry, 7:30 AM from the Lodge.

Pablo Rivera will be on the 8:30 AM Ferry to take a BFSC Group Photo. Wear your New 2012 Bike Kit. If you do not have one, wear the 2010 or 2011 BFSC Bike Kit.

The Tour de France this weekend 8:00 AM Saturday and Sunday live show is being broadcasted on NBC Comcast Ch. 432 instead of Ch. 448. The replay & Prime Times resumes on Ch. 448 the rest of the day.

Wear your NEW Beaches First Street Cycling Ride Kit
70 miles round trip from the Lodge, Approximately 50 miles from Rag Time. 
We will ride North on PVB, Duval Dr., First Street, and Plaza to A1A to the Ferry. 
We will pass Rag Time in Atlantic Beach around 8:00 AM.
Catch the 8:30 Ferry - $1.00 Each Way. 
We will catch the returning 10:45 AM Ferry. 
This is a group ride; we try to keep the group together. 
Ride Pace = 19 – 22 MPH
