Respecting the Spirit of One of the Original HammerHeads: Rod Chaplin

This Friday, June 29th, marks the 10 anniversary of the passing of Rod Chaplin at the young age of 42 years old. Rod was one of the original HammerHead Racing members (member # 10) and truly one of the kindest souls I've ever met.  We were the best of friends and I was not alone in my feeling of great loss with his passing.  An multi-Ironman triathlon veteran and winner of his age group at the 2002 Panama City Half-Ironman triathlon, he was training for the Long-Course Triathlon World Championship when he died on a run of cardiac arrhythmia in Atlantic Beach in 2002.

Please feel free to join us this Friday at 2 PM at the curb in front of Selva Marina in Atlantic Beach.  A simple tribute to keep the spirit of a great man alive is planned. We encourage the sharing of stories and memories of Rod.  Please respect the neighbors and members of Selva Marina by parking in safe areas.

With Healthy Regards,

Mike Ryan
